2013 End of Season ReviewWelcome Blog

After the mid-season review , here is my end-of-season review. This one
is rather positive. As hoped in my post at the end of August , the 2013 End of Season peak
load paid off and September was good. The
threshold power jumped by +10w over 30 min
(315w vs 305w) allowing me to play for the podiums on the cyclos and 2013 End of Season climbs
until the beginning of October (see previous posts).

Power records for Sep/October

To achieve this, I
absolutely did not follow the same phone number list training as in 2012. The latter had
focused too much on critical endurance, resulting in
a certain residual fatigue (like a little at the end of June 2013…). The
latter had to be absorbed with more time and the peak of form came
too late. This year my last long outing was that of the EDT at the beginning of July with 4h40. Since then and to
promote recovery, I have chained the outings very regularly
allowing me to reach the same load (95 CTL) as in 2012 but without ever exceeding 2h30.
Basically basic/intensity/basic/intensity….etc and 6 days out of 7 with therefore one day off per week. This protocol will have allowed me to have a faster
improvement in performance.

Example of a block with chains

Obviously, this training is adapted to mike conlon my goals, which were generally short for this
end of the season. We shouldn’t take a shortcut by saying that we can
perform for a long time without long rides! As is often the case, we see that recovery is the
key to progress. Far too many cyclists and athletes know how to train
and are aware of the latest
preparation techniques, but too few know how to clean email recover properly. Recovery cycles
are often too little marked for fear of losing what we have learned.
