On Saturday, September 28, 2013, I participated in the
Lachtel weiher climb, the 5th event on the FSGT 2013 calendar and organized by the CCK
club . It was a short 3.6 km event with 300mD+, featuring Lachtel weiher climb some good 10% sections interspersed with a few short flat sections Lachtelweiher climb that awaited the participants.
For me, it’s a dozen-minute effort to manage where aerobic power was going to be decisive.
The fairly steep slope can be an advantage since it takes more than 5 watts
to compensate for 1 kg of weight, whereas on a 5% gradient, you’re around 3 watts. The
morning weigh-in at 60.7 kg (61 kg ideal weight) indicates that I can
hardly do better at the moment without losing too much strength
Lachtelweiher climb afterwards
Just after the Ballons Vosgiens, I had gone
through this reconnaissance climb at 330 watts and with a small margin. So today’s strategy will be to maintain 340 watts.
At the start, the legs are good and the buy bulk sms service effort seems easy at 340 watts
at the beginning. Fortunately, however, I did not start faster because after
6 minutes it is already a struggle to maintain this power. Muscle pain
appears, breathing becomes really rapid, it will be necessary
to tear myself apart (as planned by J)
to maintain this pace until the end. I feel that I am lacking a little muscular and especially mental freshness
to go even further in the effort. On the Borg CR10 scale, I was at 8
/ 10.
The finish at the car park above the Lachtelweiher lake
relief and I cross the finish line in 11’46 organisation @337w avg. In the absence
of Philippe Moreau and a few top local riders, this time
finally allows me to have 3rd place eric anllo overall behind my friend Hervé Gebel (11’38)
and the already winner of the CLM du Ballon Olivier Guth (11’17).
A quick
comparative calculation, as I like to do, gives me an estimated power of 355w (+18w) to do as well as Olivier. Impossible
for me. On the Ballon and a longer effort, I would have needed only 10 watts
more to compete with his 26’40” but here the PMA + some superior lactic capacities
of the first 2 make the difference. Not my clean email strong point, I will have to go do
some FFC and FSGT races in 2014 for that!
Last goal next Saturday with the Salbert time trial.
I know a climb like the back of my hand from my many equipment tests. Target 345w in 9min50, that would be 10s less than in 2012.
