I choose to take a
lot of leeway for the warm-up because I suspect that the start will be
difficult. 30 min turning the legs very easily then 2
progressive climbs of 6 min in intensity I2 towards I4. The sensations are The muscular congestion very bad
on the first series but better on the second. A few short sprints to
finish and here I am at the start. The start is rather good with 4 min @ 340w on the slope
@ 8% but from the rolling part I see that I lack the The muscular congestion strength to
take the gear. I let @ 300w pass then put the watts back when the slope returns
to 5%. After 15 min of effortbecomes significant
despite a good cadence of 90 rpm maintained throughout, I am forced to
relax several times the effort. Too bad! Like in 2012, I crash
on the last bend and start too late the final acceleration which finally
still goes well.
I crossed the line in 25’47@313w
13 s better than in 2012! On the other hand, it’s also 5 watts less! How can we explain
this improvement with fewer watts (no wind c level executive list and similar temperature)? Simply
by a set that is 1kg lighter (
that’s -13s) but also by a much better choice of tires!
In 2012 I had Ultremo ZX on the same wheels. This time the Continental Supersonic worked wonders and, as measured in my tests, allowed me to save
4 to 5 watts on the Ultremo (with the same Crr or not far from the GP 4000s tested). It goes to
show that it’s worth spending a little time choosing the best equipment!
I am therefore fully satisfied with this time because I manage to practically
give the best of myself having done a cp20 and PMA the day before.
The first 4 were untouchable
But 5th place (Bravo Bernard) in 25’26 was perhaps
possible. A quick calculation trish pham shows that I needed to get out 7 watts more. Limit
anyway! I’ll settle for 7th place behind my friend
Hervé and 2nd place among the Olds! Philippe Moreau wins hands down and is
untouchable by improving his time by more than 20s in 21’54. That’s just
400wavg for me to get out to
equalize! He
had set himself 450w (he’s heavier) at the powertap clean email on certain sections!
Hats off!
Thanks to the VC Soultzia club for organizing and
closing the road, it was great.
